Then there are other elements to add to the list. A healthy person also knows how to manage stress, gets good quality sleep each night, doesn't drink too much, doesn't sit too much—basically, does everything in moderation all the time. When you look at everything that could possibly go into a healthy lifestyle, you can see just how hard all of those things are in our current world.


To splurge or not to splurge? That is the perennial weight-loss question. Should you allow for occasional indulgences in your healthy-eating program, or say a firm “no” out of fear they will sabotage your results? Once you start a new regimen, it can be scary to stray from it. So how can you navigate the path of progress without veering into perfectionism? Here’s some professional counsel.

I am also learning about my natural hair and I’ll just go through my regimen with you. I shampoo once a week (sulphate free)+ leave in conditioner. I deep condition twice a month. more regularly now as its winter period. during the week, I do the LOC method three times in a week. Once a month I do a protein treatment using blended eggs, olive oil and shea butter.

Another explanation is curl pattern and texture. I personally have at least 3 that I can identify… lol My front is straight on the ends and the longer it goes, the straighter it gets. I cut a few inches about 3 years ago because I thought it was heat damaged, but it wasn’t. It is still strand in the front. I just accept the straightness and work with it. Now my crown area has a coarser texture, the most shrinkage and the tightest curls.

Other factors – There can be other factors that I can’t necessarily account for. It could be a combination of detox, water, ingredients, and method…. but unless I can talk to you face to face, see you mix your ingredients together, check your water, and watch you shower… I won’t necessarily know why something isn’t working for you. (And let’s  be honest, that would be really awkward.)  Ultimately, if you are serious about natural hair care you have to be willing to experiment and keep trying until you find your sweet spot.
Last thought, I have a very difficult time trusting people in my hair. When I was on the creme crack it was hard. I had a lot of HORRIBLE experiences. I do not want to go through this with my natural hair that I have been actually paying attention to and learning to love for almost a year now. I do not want someone to mess it up. I worked hard on these 5 inches. Also, I have dusty like brown hair. I want to color it wither a richer brown or maybe black. Is that a bad thing? My natural hair color makes my hair look as if it is dirty, dry, damaged and unhealthy. But, it is not, it just looks that way. It took me to go natural to realize that my hair is not damaged it is just an ugly brown. There are still plenty of people who are loving the whole No ‘Poo thing, and the key (I believe) is a good Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse as it will help balance the scalp after the harsher baking soda wash. I personally love the “pumped up” from Reformation Acres. If you don’t want to go all out, you can always just use a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted in about a cup of water to rinse.

2. SHAMPOO MINDFULLY. Yes, you still need to shampoo regularly to keep your scalp and hair clean- but you can lengthen the time between washes to 2, 3, or even 4 weeks.
